REPORTS TO:????????? ? Principal of University High School of Science and Engineering

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
1.????? Master?s degree in education with minimum of five years teaching experience at the high school level. ?092 certification preferred.
2.????? Knowledge of Research based instructional practices with experience in establishing thematic programs (STEM area preferable) at the secondary level.
3.????? Knowledge of Connecticut Curriculum Frameworks.
4.????? Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of CAPT including continuous student achievement ??????improvement processes, scoring, and test administration procedures.
5.????? Knowledge of the Special Education Process and working with Individual Education Plans (IEP).
6.????? Experienced in analyzing large and varying amounts of data for the purpose of program improvement.
8.????? Excellent organizational, analytical, and technical skills necessary.
9.????? Ability to handle stressful situations and work within difficult time constraints.
10.??? Demonstrated strengths in leadership, sound interpersonal and communications skills.
11.??? Demonstrated knowledge in the use of technology to support teaching and learning.
12.??? Knowledge of and capable of utilizing a wide range of software packages for the purpose of building the master schedule, scheduling students, home communications, and grade reporting.
13.?? ?Knowledge of Early College/Middle College model and experience working with University of Hartford ?????and/or other post secondary institutions preferred.
14.?? Excellent organizational and analytical skills for the purpose of completing school reports.
15.? Experienced in recruiting students.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Appropriate Secondary Connecticut teacher certification required.

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary: $42,052 - $86,196. Extended day (8%)/extended year (16%) differentials (subject to available funding).
