POSITION:???? TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

REPORTS TO:???? Director of Transportation / Under Direct Supervision of the Deputy Chief Operating Officer
?
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To ensure the efficiency and effectiveness in providing transportation services for special education students attending Hartford Public Schools and Out of District placements.
?
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.??? Bachelors degree, preferably with experience working in the transportation industry, or similar work environment or minimum of 8 years of experience working in the transportation industry.
2.??? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
3.??? Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with school staffs, contracted vendors, and community personnel.
4.??? Must be able to relate courteously and tactfully to students and parents.
5.??? Excellent organizational, data analysis and data presentation skills.
6.??? Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
7.??? Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of a quantitative nature.
8.??? Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
9.??? Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
10.? Ability to work under pressure within time constraints.

Salary and Terms of Employment: 12-month work year. Salary: $45,109 - $53,496.
?
