Position would service Language Arts, Research & Testing, overflow from Social Studies and overflow from other departments.? The skills and knowledge required are generally obtained with an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science, and two years of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.? Highly organized person who is capable of maintaining budgets, process purchase orders, distribute materials, and all related responsibilities and functions required.? Ability to relate to staff, parents and community in a positive and effective manner.? Excellent document management skills required.? Fluency in Spanish is an asset.? This position is 37.5 hours per week,?12 months.? The salary range is $18.41-$25.05 per hour with full fringe benefits. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Position Definition: Performs office-administrative and secretarial assistance of a confidential, and responsible nature for a system-wide unit; and provides secretarial and clerical services to unit staff members. ? General Duties: Receives oral or written instructions from supervisor. Plans and organizes work according to established or standard office procedures. Determines priority of work tasks. Types and transcribes letters, reports, and records from hand-written notes or transcription equipment. Prepares materials for meetings and conferences, including preparation, compilation, and collation of reports, and the preparation and distribution of meeting notices and agendas. Attends meetings, keeps and transcribes minutes and other records of actions. Relieves staff members of administrative detail. Composes and types routine correspondence and reports. Screens telephone calls or greets visitors, ascertains nature of business, and refers to appropriate staff members. Compiles and coordinates essential and confidential data for action by staff members. Prepares statistical reports from original data. Monitors unit line item accounts to assure availability of funds for programs. Prepares unit purchase orders and processes. Performs special assignments, studies, and routine office-administrative functions as directed. Reports work accomplished to supervisor. ? Additional Duties: Establishes and maintains various unit records, files and procedures. Maintains unit personnel records, including confidential student or staff evaluation information. Operates a micro-computer or a remote computer terminal to process word and data information. Maintains office materials and supplies. Meets the staff and public, and provides information on unit programs, procedures, and regulations. Assists secretaries in other units as needed. ? Supervised By: Receives general supervision from supervisor. ? Qualifications Profile: The skills and knowledge required are generally acquired with graduation from high school -and two years of increasingly responsible stenographic or secretarial experience. Ability to type with speed and accuracy. Ability to accurately process paperwork. Ability to keep accurate records. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Ability to relate to staff members, students, parents and general public. Ability to operate office equipment, and to learn to operate data and word processing equipment. ?
