School Nurse Norwalk High School ? DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.? First aid and emergency care to students Pre-K to Grade 12 (including special education? ???? population). 2.? Screenings as mandated by policy.? 3.? Resource health professional for staff and students. 4.? Participation as member of Special Education and 504 Teams.? 5.? Administration of medication/special health procedures as ordered by M.D. 6.? Support of Board policies and procedures as related to health. ? REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Valid professional nursing license. Basic nursing education from diploma, and/or baccalaureate program. Minimum of one year professional nursing experience within the last 5 years. Pediatric/ adolescent experience. First aid skills. Current/updated physical assessment skills (preferably pediatrics). Ability to administer medication and skilled nursing procedures. Good communication skills. Provide own transportation. ? PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1.? B. S. N. degree or higher with prior school nurse experience. 2.? Background to include community health and multicultural/diverse experience. 3.? C. S. N. certification. 4.?
