ONE DAY TECH BOOT CAMP:????? ? MS Applications and New Media Professional Development Day ? REQUIREMENTS: You are a teacher who has previously participated in Tech Boot Camp. You must bring your laptop or tablet in order to participate. Completion of a pre-class questionnaire which will help identify class needs. ? ? Up to .6 CEUs Available ? GENERAL STATEMENT ? This one day session is open to anyone who has previously completed a Teacher Tech Boot Camp. The morning program will cover enhanced MS applications, as it relates to Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher. The applications to be reviewed during the morning session will be a combination of your input to a questionnaire and the enhanced features of MS applications, which were not covered during the regular Boot Camp. ? The afternoon program will focus on Promethean training, Technology Integrated Studies and Project Learning. This will include Webcasting, Podcasting, Webinars, I-tunesU, and blogging. ? This session will be held at CITI UCONN. The emphasis is on enhanced MS Applications, but there will be time for refresher issues.? Again, the actual course content will be developed based on responses to a questionnaire that will go out to selected applicants. ? Who is encouraged to apply? Past Tech Boot Camp participants who are interested in: ? o?? Further enhancing their technology skills to improve instruction and student learning; o?? Learning instructional methods that incorporate new media; o?? Getting answers to questions about specific applications; o?? Sharing new practices with colleagues in the district. ? What is expected of participants at the One Day Tech Boot Camp? ? o?? Participants must complete a technology questionnaire before the session to determine class needs. o?? Participants must bring their own laptop or tablet. o?? Enthusiasm to continue to learn about and apply technology within the classroom. ? DATES ? Friday, April 24 ?????????????????????? 9:00-3:00 (Please arrive by 8:45) ? ? The session will be held at UCONN CITI Lab 1.39 ? Lunch is not provided, but there is a cafeteria on site. ? ? MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ? ????????? Must be a past participant of a Tech Boot Camp ????????? Current Connecticut Teaching Certificate License ????????? Current teaching position, either classroom teacher or teacher on special assignment ?????? in the Stamford Public Schools ????????? Interest in learning about and sharing practices in using technology to enhance instructional practices and learning ? RESPONSIBILITIES ? Full participation is required during your time at the One Day Tech Boot Camp and includes completion of a pre-class questionnaire to identify class needs. You will be asked to participate in periodic follow-up surveys to help better plan future TBC and Refresher sessions. ? ? COMPENSATION ? There is no financial compensation for this PD opportunity. ?
