Tutors Wanted for Supplemental Educational Services (SES) Tutoring

One on One Learning seeks qualified tutors for a Supplemental Educational Services tutoring program in various districts in Connecticut. SES is defined as tutoring or other supplemental academic enrichment services in Reading and Math that are provided beyond the normal school day and are of high quality, research based, and specifically designed to increase academic achievement of students in schools in need of improvement. Please see “The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001”.

Where: Bridgeport, Meriden, Stamford, New Haven, East Hartford, Hartford, Waterbury, Ansonia, and Windsor
<br>
**Tutoring is conducted at various schools sites, community centers, libraries and one-on-one in home, offering tutors great flexibility and the potential to combine programs for maximum earning opportunities.
<br>
Hours: 6 – 8 hrs plus a week and vary according to the individual’s tutor’s availability.
<br>
Schedule: Monday – Saturday flexible
<br>
Pay Rate: Varies between $25-$55/hr
<br>
Dates: December, 2009– June, 2010
<br>

Summary of essential job function:
<br>
<br>
• Possibly perform diagnostic tests to determine each student’s strengths and weaknesses.
<br>
• Organize and maintain groups according to student: tutor ratio and functioning level to the best of your ability. Facility usage must be used wisely and kept to a minimum.
<br>
• Organize and update all student folders, parent contact information, dismissal procedure and any additional paperwork required from employer.
<br>
• Monitor tutoring sessions as to ensure all students are in accordance with what is stated on their Student Learning Plan (SLP). Make sure we are in compliance with all Title I policies and procedures.
<br>
• Make sure all students are provided a snack before tutoring session begins not during tutoring.
<br>
• Possibly organize transportation and keep the lines of communication open between you and the bus drivers.
<br>
• Maintain tutor time sheets, student attendance, progress, reports and any additional paperwork required from employer correct and update daily.
<br>
• Submit all necessary paperwork correctly and on-time to the State Director for Invoicing.
<br>
• Communicate effectively with Tutors, School Administration, Regional Director, and possibly Title I staff.
<br>
• Attend all school functions when available for enrollment purposes including but not limited to provider fairs, principal fairs, teacher functions, etc.
