A very private, respected Beach Club is looking for a Beach and waterfront / Pool Director to manage the lifeguard staff and ensure pool cleanliness and safety. Applicants should have a strong background in management, budgeting, pool management, and should relate well to children. This is the ideal position for a teacher seeking summer employment, wit a background in aquatics mangement.

Applicants should possess lifeguard certification, first aid / CPR certification and Certified Pool and Spa operators will be viewed favorably.

III. Job Summary
Supervise and maintain safe, clean and appealing club swimming, diving and beach facilities. Manages lifeguard staff.

IV. Job Tasks (Duties)
1. Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates staff
2. Ensures training is on-going throughout the season
3. Formulates weekly work schedules and rotation schedules for all beach and pool employees
4. Oversees purchasing of pool chemicals
5. Is responsible for proper chemical balance in pools and maintenance of mechanical equipment in coordination with the club’s beach management
6. Maintains correct payroll records
7. Is responsible for member and guest registration and recording of charges for all guests, lessons, etc.
8. Provides necessary orientation and training for pool staff
9. Enforces club rules of safety and conduct. Logs issues proactively and enforces discipline where necessary
10. Plans and directs special events
11. Represents the club in activities as required
12. Oversees implementation of an annual operating and staffing budget to be developed by the Beach Club Manager; takes corrective actions as necessary to assure that budget goals are attained\
13. Assists Beach Club Manager in development of beach and pool related annual capital requirements. Presents case for such expenditures as needed before relevant committees
14. Maintains inventory of suntan oil, sunglasses and other miscellaneous beach and pool sundries; keeps accurate accounting records of sales
15. Maintains and keeps all necessary records concerning pool attendance, pool chemicals, accident reports, problem-member reports, lifeguard and instructor schedules, time cards, etc.
16. Develops and implements pool safety program
17. Attends “meet and greet” events, beach committee meetings, pool meets, and other beach and pool related meetings as needed
18. May act as assistant swim/diving coach, may assist Swim Coach in swim team lessons, accompanies swim team at swim meets, assists in development of team lineups.
